Sequencing a group of photos

My family has tasked me with collecting and post processing photos of my 95 year old wife's mother who will pass in the next few days. I have edited the group in Lightroom and will make them available via Lightroom Export. My question is how to sequence the photos, the images depict my Mother-in-Law from early chidhood to old age. Perhaps someone who has done sequencing for a wedding book has a suggestion.

Not sure about the sequencing, but I have done several projects for similar purposes where I used Picasa to come up with a Photo Collage with a bunch of the pictures "thrown" around on the space.

Sounds like you have a handle on it already.
Chronicle the good times and high points along the timeline of her life.

just remember you're celebrating the life of a person, not the death.

Create a collection in Lightroom's Library module. Select the images you wish to use and use the keyboard command Command/Control N,to make your collection. Give it a name. Click on the collection and you will be able sort your images as you deem appropriate. You can only sort them manually in a collection. Once done, select all and go to File>Export. I suggest you create a custom name with a sequence. Export them as jpegs with the sRGB color space.
Good luck!

Simply drag and drop where you want them in the filmstrip in the library module of LR. Then Control + A to select all, and F2 to rename

I sequence using method that preserves the order I want. First I name then number 0 (or no number)-9 (10 is seen as a 1 with an addition and so gets you back to the beginning). Then I do a0(or blank)-9, then b0-9, c0-9, etc. Letters can be upper or lower case: the computer treats both the same I've found. For example: Trees, Trees 1, Trees 2, . . . . Trees a, Trees a1, Trees a2, . . . .

WOW-sounds very complicated when you can simply Drag-n-Drop to an order you want in Lightroom.

I don't use Lightroom. I guess I'm just a complicated person. Wife calls me "interesting." Guess it's the same thing. Hope she doesn't mean "interesting" as in the ultimate Chinese curse: "May you live in interesting times."

when you say "sequence" the phots - what is your viewing mechanism?

if you export as jpgs, they are just files in a folder and you need to rename them.

if its a photo book/slide show, then its sequenced in the application

No, the OP said they use LR, and LR can sequence in any order they want and rename in that order with one keystroke. There is no need to rename them after the fact.
