Add your photos that emphasize these attributes. Images with red are allowed, if Rivernan hasn't already snatched them for her pet project.

I do not do poetry.

Thanks for playing. the background in my shot was almost completely dark, while you have light and color in a very similar composition. I was out for a walk and sitting down on a rock across the street from that gate to rest my leg, which tends to go numb every half mile or so.

I'm new here and just posted this in the Introduce Yourself board. Sorry if it is a duplicate but it just fits this topic so well.
It is a two exposure composite, one for shadows and one for highs, of a back hall stairwell. The early morning light just made me stop and go WOW!

As a "trompe l'oeuil" this image is near perfect.

i see the wow factor - what s missing for me are the compositional factors I look at this and my eye and my mind just goes spinning

DOCROB, Exactly! Are you familiar with M.C. Escher's work? This shot first seems like you are looking horizontally through a tunnel but then you see that is a vertical looking down. Composition was very intentional in this regard, sorry if you don't see it.

i am familiar though not terribly - and i still miss it. Keep in mind a photograph is a 2 dimensional representation of a 3 dimensional subject....so when the contrast levels remain the same throughout the image and there are no visual cues for depth then.....things kinda go south for me from there on out.....Oh could be my glasses though? And thanks for the apology

"Trompe l'oeil" is an image which creates an illusion. Literally, it means to trick the eye. And, know it or not, you just received a high compliment, and EW hands those out sparingly.
