Not being familiar with your kind of work, are you able to preview their backdrops prior to purchasing them? Or do you just see a generic one and they give you something else?

I have purchase back drops from them from an image on their web site. What they send is probably pulled off a shelf. You dont know exactly what you are getting. If i had purchased this and not see the image until i had used it in a session, i would have been very upset. Not only at the nature of what i see, but the waste of my time and energy in the photo shoot.

If I wanted that type of backdrop, I would certainly buy it, and I doubt if I would have noticed the "face", and I certainly wouldn't have thought it was a turban clad face with a gun. I do have one painted backdrop, and I probably could look at it carefully and imagine I saw various images in it, just like one looks for images in clouds. But seeing that specific an image and blaming the company that made it is silly.

Not to hold the company responsible is ludicrous . Are they not accountable for the product they sell? Whether intentional or not,, they are responsible for their products, and the vendors they buy from.

And thank you Lauren for adding a legitimate answer instead of the nut jobs answers that so many stoop to. :D

Your welcome, I can understand your feelings. I also have the type of "eye" that can spot anomalies in things. Things that seem to be "out of order" or "don't belong there". My husband has always commented that I'm the first to spot a deer grazing on the side of a hill, or a bunny sitting in a field. For some reason, my eye goes to things that don't "fit" with it's surroundings, and I don't have to be intentionally looking for it, it's just where my eyes go. I don't really know how to explain it, but I see what you are talking about, and I can understand it. That's why I wouldn't use that backdrop. So, now those who don't understand can call me names too. :D  :-D

If this bothers you so much, and it seems it does, have you bothered to contact the company and voice you opinion to them? It seems to me to be the proper thing to do.

Has anyone noticed anything like this from a reputable company? i received this in an e mail this morning. I was horrified at what i saw. The image to the right of the girl stood out to me right away. I have purchased product from this company in the past, but i probably will no longer. To think that this is what they are putting out as advertisement, what is on all the other back drops?

I doubt anyone sees what you see. What are you smoking?

I wouldn't hold the company responsible because it doesn't bother me. Since you see a man with a turban and a gun and that does bother you, by all means, complain to the company. I imagine they would replace it, and then have a good laugh around the company.

Are you serious? If there is part of a backdrop you don't like then put your subject in front of it and hide it. I have backdrops from Denny and there aren't any terrorist images in them.

When I use my painted backdrop, I do the same thing - pick a section of the backdrop that looks best. If I do end up with it looking unbalanced, maybe too light on one side, a few clicks with the clone tool from another section fixes it very quickly.

Tayco, I'd like to introduce you to Larry Payne. Larry, Tayco. Tayco, Larry. You two were made for each other. Now you can leave the rest of us alone and be in conspiracy nirvana with one another. Knock yourselves out.
