Bad news for three-wheelers in Texas.

Wonder how the payoff worked for this ruling? This tyranny gets old.

Speaking of "payoff," I bet it will be approved pretty soon.

Nice, but kinda pricey for only three wheels and no roof. :D

I wonder what Texas would do with the classic Morgan Tricycle? Of course from the pictures here http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2013-morgan-3-wheeler-review it does seem to have a roll bar, but....the originals didn't. Somewhere I have some shots I took of an old one in for service at a shop in Hartwell, GA, of all places.

I was sorely tempted many years ago to buy a 4 wheel Morgan, leather hood straps and all, moved along by a Triumph 4 cylinder, I think. Practical considerations came into play, sadly; the little gem really had no trunk at all. Plus the termite contract on the ash body formers would be an odd expense..... I was privileged in Hartwell to drive a Morgan Plus 4. Delightful! You could touch the pavement from the driver's seat.

Wonder what the Texas cops will do with a slingshot coming down the road, with Oklahoma, Arizona, or New Mexico plates? If they are legal in those states, they ARE LEGAL on the road in Texas. They just can't be sold in Texas. Hmmmm?

If it was electric, wouldn't be any problem.

I'm.curious about this; there are quite a few VW trikes around w/I saddle style seats that are classified as motorcycles. I know from experience.

It's Texas! Mount some AR-15's on it and register it as a mounted assault weapon. (I'm joking! Don't come after me.)

Seems to me they aren't to bright. No money to be made by outlawing them, but then again nobody said politicians were smart.

"As such, the vehicle is no longer street legal in the Lone Star State." Does that mean that you could run it on the sidewalk ?
