Near full moon SX 50 and SX 60

Took some moon shots tonight. This is not meant as a scientific comparison, just tried to see what the two cameras would do. Took some similar shots, and to my eye similar results.

Were these handheld? I've gotten similar results on a tripod with a SX-510. Nice job.

Nice comparison shots. Have you heard or seen anything concerning Image Stabilization problems with the SX60?

Very nice set! Are you still happy with the 60? And now that you have it and played a little. Would you get one again? The son is looking for a camera. And yes I almost fell down when he said that.:) But I don't think he will carry around a big camera, so I have been looking at the 50 and 60 for him.

Here is a shot of the moon using the Tamron 150-600mm. Was taken in RAW and then post-processed giving it an HDR look.

I'm learning the 60, it's not quite the same camera. It has a better electronic view finder than the 50. If he uses the digital screen more he'll be happy with either. If he uses the view finder, the 60 is better. Overall, I think he'd be happy with either one. And the 50 is cheaper.
