Heading south near DFW airport ... could these be Neotropic Cormorants? The cropped pic seems to show a blunt or hooked bill & several articles in the last couple of years indicate that they are often found up in central Texas & beyond in the summer. I know there are Double Crested Cormorants that hang out on White Rock Lake but they are darker than these appear, albeit this was taken around 8am & the sun was hitting them on the underside. There were 21 birds flying in a V-formation
Thanks for any info.

My guess would be Double-Crested, although difficult to tell from a distance.
Thanks. I did get a shot of a Double Crested over White Rock Lake last week but in much different light. It just seemed to be bigger & darker than these. I'll be interested in seeing what others think.
I would guess Sand Hill Cranes.
Thanks for your input, VHD-Tex.
Thanks ... I guess the double-crested gets the vote.
