transfering NIK plug ins to new laptop

I am in need of a new laptop and will upgrade from Elements 10 to 13 or whatever the latest edition is. How do I get my NIK plugins on the new laptop? They were a download not a software package. I looked on the search engine here but didn't see anything. Thanks.

Suggestion, in future when buying a download only program, first burn a copy of the download to a CD/DVD or put a copy on a thumb drive.

There are programs that will assist in moving existing programs from the computer you are using now to a new one. I know there are a few for Windows based machines but the only one that can come to mind is a program called PCmover. you could also take the hard drive out of the old computer install it in the new computer, boot to your operating systems boot disk, then run a system repair which should allow the new machine to boot from the old hard drive, once all the hardware drivers are installed I should say.

This is why before I install any program, updates or plugins I save the executables so they can be installed later if need be. If your program is on a disk I will make an .ISO copy of the disk with poweriso or similar program.

You contact NiK and they give you authority to download your plugins. I have done it several times when I have had to repair or replace a computer.

You should probably still have a NIK .ZIP file in the "Downloads" folder on your C: drive of the old computer. If so, transfer it onto a CD, DVD, or other media to transfer it to the new laptop. You could also put free Dropbox on both computers and let the new one retrieve it from the old one online via the Dropbox website.

You'll need your registration key to make the new version active after you get it installed. That may be found in the "About" section of the Help menu in the NIK plug-ins on the old computer or you might want to contact Google's NIK support to have them send it to you via email. Google's being quite good about supporting their newly purchased division so they'll be glad to help you, maybe even suggesting that you re-download the latest NIK updated versions for free before continuing.

I had a Viveza 2 problem, wrote to support, and they were on my request like rabid dogs immediately. The result was fixing Viveza 2 and sending me a beta of it which worked perfectly from then on.
