One day old Moon at sunset

I was very happy to get this shot here in Albuquerque.
Shooting such a young moon is a challenge.
The moon is in the transition from orange to blue.
At the top right is Venus.

That's really cool I couldn't even see it last evening. Did you shoot it on the fly and hope to get it on film?

This was a planned shoot that I did last year.
The moon was barely visable but as the evening rolled on it became more so as it dipped to the horizon. Of course it was older then as well.
I ran across it and wanted to share.
I would like to get a shot of the moon less than 24 hours but my nemesis the clouds have always spoiled that for me.

Hey Jim,
Tomorrow should be really clear for you and "IFFY" for Astro, Gene and I on the Coast.
When is the next time the Moon will be 24hrs old at rise or set? Sounds like a challenge.

Do a search for new moon times and look for the navy forecast. It will be darn close.
