Man, Oh Man, Oh Man, Oh Man. . . .
There are a couple of lines from American poet Wallace Stevens's poem "The Dove in the Belly" that go:
"The rivers shine and hold their mirrors up,
Like excellence collecting excellence."
Those lines apply doubly to your superlative work, Mike: those exquisite mirrors in your #1 here and numberless other images reflecting the Alaskan mountains in their glory---and your own photographic excellence . . . collecting and reflecting excellence.
You are a poet with a camera, Mike. Truly.

Mike, the scenery is breathtaking and your shots are beautiful!...I've only visited Alaska peripherally on a huge cruise ship...hope one day to get on land beyond the port cities...your photos are inspiring!...
Thank you very much for your kind comment. Cruise lines don't show you very much of the last frontier, the most scenic areas like the Lynn channel are traveled at night. They want you to spend a whole day at Skagway, Ketchikan etc. it is there where they make their money on excursions. For many years I flew to Anchorage where rented a car for 2 weeks and tried to stay away from the main tourist places, I think it is the best and cheapest way to see Alaska.

Stunningly beautiful, what more can I say. You are an inspiration to me Mike to try and achieve just a fraction of your skills in landscape photography. Always look forward to your Alaskan posts.  :D
Thank you very much Sylvia, you are so kind, I appreciate it.

The most amazing pictures of Alaska, of anyplace, I have ever seen. I have lived in Alaska but feel I am seeing it for the the first time.
Thank you very much, it's time to go go back and revisit.

Guess that would bother me. What happens if one has an accident or medical emergency?
That's a risk one has to take. Now I am only there for two weeks, there are people living in places like Eagle Alaska they are 400 miles away from any hospital. That's why it is called the "Last Frontier"

Mike--Can you tell us where each of these pictures were taken? In all the years that I have been taking pictures and viewing pictures I have never seen any thing quite like this set. If Ansel Adams were alive today he would be bird dogging you for info. I sit here in front of my computer and as down load each picture I become aware of greatness in your touch and your complete control of all the facets of photography. Long may you continue to amaze us with your work.
