Oh, I have no intention of leaving. I know that topics sometimes take on a life of their own. I got the info I needed. Whatever NIKON sayd is of academic interest, but has no bearing on me at this point, since I already resolved the issue to my satisfaction when I figured out that most refurbs have not had a long life (statistically)....Cheers!

Good choice these things can turn into just about anything George.

I am considering a refurbished Nikon D7100. However, I am concerned that I may get one with a high shutter count.

I contacted both Adorama and B&H to ask this question. Neither would say that the shutter was replaced. Adorama said that the count was zeroed, B&H said that it was not.
Any advice that I just buy a new one, or "that's what you get when you buy refurbished", or similar responses are not helpful and are not appreciated. If you have any positive viewpoint to add to this topic, I would be glad to hear it...Thanks in advance.

Hello Craig,
Thank you for contacting Nikon and to answer your question - no. We do not reset the shutter count of the cameras during the refurbishing process.

Thank you for contacting Nikon and have a wonderful day.
