I had one. It stopped working about three years ago. At the time I got it was a lot more acccurate than the built in meters that were in cameras of the day (Like 1980). Today, i find the meters in my cameras are spot on and if mine still worked, I probably wouldn't use it much. It was pretty straightforward with both incident and reflected capability. I'm not sure what questions you have, but I'll try to answer them as best I can.
I have the Sekonic l-308s that I use for difficult lighting conditions and it does a great job. The meter inside the camera does a great job and only use the Sekonic sparingly mostly for outdoor portraits

If it still works use it to compare it with your DSLR just remember it use's ASA so ISO is the same. I still have an old Gossen Luna-Pro I still use it on some subjects. Have lots of fun with it.
