The wife & I decided to escape the Texas heat and visit the Cumbres & Toltec Steam Train and search out "Golden" Aspen Trees!
We are staying in Chama, NM at the rv park next to the train yard.
Rode the bus over to Antonito, CO., caught the train and traveled back to Chama.

Another activity is chasing the train out of Chama up to the mountain pass. Great views to capture of the whole train!
Thanks for taking a look!

Nice shots. Rode it several years ago in the summer. Did not have the fall color. Have you done the Duango-Silverton? That is another great train trip.

Great shots!!! I always wanted to go on the spring trip when they open the pass with the rotary plow.

Hi Pat,
Nice series, thanks for sharing, beautiful scenery. Wife and I just got back from Colorado Springs a few weeks ago. Does a body good to get out of the heat.

Ok now you've got me drooling Pat. Out RV'ing and riding a steam train. Can't get much better than that. Your images are great and really show the Fall colors...very nice. My wife and I are planning to take our final RV trip to the Smoky Mountains in late October. But, I think the only steam train in the area is at Dollywood. I could do without the crowds...to bad they don't just offer the train ride. Glad your out having a fun time. Stay safe on your travels.
