Thank you Tracy. Fortunate indeed. We only get them twice a year...early spring and mid-fall during their migrations. That's a sad story for a first sighting....and "almost" as sad your second.
I'll bet bet you made up for it with some beautiful landscapes though! :D

Nice set Perry. I think the Goldfinch is one of the prettiest birds there are. Are you familiar with the Cedar Wax Wing? My next favorite.

Wow that's pretty. I wonder if that was what my wife got a shot of, I thought it was a female cardinal giving off a different hue from the sun set. I will have to find it and then I will post it perhaps tomorrow night.

Well welcome to the forum! And how did you get those shots? Scary!

Thanks! And I need the warning. I can see myself getting addicted quick..

It was an unexpectedly cool day, and they were swarming on the light post. When they are swarming, bees, especially the less aggressive native bees, aren't concerned with observers. The cooler weather helps. Just don't poke them, I don't know what they'd do. :)

Welcome, and WOW to those pictures of the bees. I would be scared to death.

The very first Cedar Wax Wing I saw, flew into our glass (front door) side light and killed himself. I was heart stricken, what a beautiful bird. The next time I saw one, I saw hundreds, we were rafting the salmon river in Idaho,,and came upon a flock! I was floating down the river and my camera was tucked away safe and dry, and I didn't get one shot.

You are so fortunate to see and photograph such an elusive and beautiful creature! <jealous>

So far I think it's the best.
But.....maybe someone else is hiding a really good one. Let see.
I'll post some of mind after I see some of my comrades.

Please no pictures of your spouse, children, mother etc. I know you think they are wild about life, but I'm looking for thing we don't allow to sit with us at the dinner table.
 ;-)

Nice king bird, it's hard to even get a shot like that with him in flight, and it looks like your camera focused on the picnic table more than him, but I can't nitpic a shot like that especially with a straight face.

I think the triceratops is beyond help I'm afraid... He's a little too far gone now.

Nice shot of him though. :)

Thank you Perry. You're correct. The focus is on the table.
The triceratops would have been in focus about 70000 years ago.

I had some wild life in my car today, left the top down and although I am not afraid of these guys at all, he caught me off guard and I almost had to call Gieko! (sp?)

Out of focus, I was driving!

That is too funny, I'm glad you aren't phobic of those little anoles, it wouldn't have been funny if you would have wrecked your car freaking out. The shot on the key chain was quite nice considering the fact you were driving.

He's so cute, not a bad shot for someone driving. Anyway if I brought him home my cat would eat him...... Which could make for a good wildlife shot.

I over exposed this shot, shame he was in such a perfect postion and his color was good against the leaf.... such is life. I've only been shooting 20 months. With a DSLR. and this was the new one I had just gotten.
