I know that Nikon just released the new D750, but I'd heard they were going to release a D7200. Anyone have any info on this upgrade to the D7100? Not seen anything on the Nikon website.

I've heard nothing about that, except for the name. The D7100 is selling well, and the D750 was just introduced, so I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a D7200. A D7200 would probably weaken D750 sales.

The last thing I heard was not to expect Nikon to announce a DX body this year.

One website ( don't recall which one ) made reference to a 7300 or 9300 to replace the 7100 and the 300. It would also incorporate the required modifications to both units. The announcement supposedly is to be made sometime next year.

They're quickly using up numbers.

Nikon Rumers website reports D9300 coming that will replace D7100 as well as being the D300 long waited for replacement.

"A very significant news for everyone that is waiting for D300s replacement: Nikon is preparing to launch a new D9300 camera. This is all I got for now - just a model name. The body will most likely be DX and will obviously be placed above the D7xxx line (Nikon has probably decided to keep the Dxxx line for full frame cameras and Dxxxx for DX bodies). Why D9300 and not just D9000? I guess to match the version of the D3300 and D5300. This could well be the D400 many readers have been waiting for a long time. This is the first time I have heard something reliable on a high-end DX body."

And six months later, also on NikonRumors:

"Nikon D9300

Since the last (and only) D9300 rumor I received back in April, I have not heard anything else on this model (the information I received was from a very good source). It could be that the D9300 was code/internal name for the already announced D810. I really do not know what is going on with the D9300.

Nikon D7200

Just to make it clear: I have never received any reliable information regarding a new D7200 camera - the D7200 rumor was started back in January by the Japanese magazine Impress and it was just the next logical step for the Nikon DX line, nothing more."

Wouldn't expect to see a D7200 any time soon. Nikon is looking to grow its' full frame footprint with the D750 and also push their entry-level DSLR offerings, leaving the D7100 market for folks who want the price point of an DX camera but with the high-end features of FX cameras. Maybe next year we'll see a D7200 or even a D8000 line with features found in the D750.
