Looking for a 17-50 2.8 lens for a Nikon D80. Interested in the Tamron or Sigma. Would like the VC feature to stabilize photos.

that's hardly a len's that you need a stabilizer on as you can hand hold a 50 mm at 1/30 of a second . and I'm not sure you will find one . check out the
sigma 18-36 mm f1.8 it's rated as exc. and it's faster than f2.8
I've got a Tamron 17-50 2.8 lens for my Canons and it's an excellent lens. The f2.8 is constant. I've heard that the VC version of this lens is NOT as sharp as the non-VC.
