Beautiful shots. Hummers are some of the most amazing birds. How can a bird that weighs less than a US quarter fly over the Gulf of Mexico in one flight? Incredible!

Excellent! You must have a great camera! (Humor intended here) I've always wanted to get them hovering at the feeder in front of our house. I'll try again when summer arrives.

here's one I shot through "video" mode and carved out the single frame and then did some PP on it. Because it's slow (30 fps) you can't get stunning detail ( also I was about 20 feet away from the feeder on zoom) but at least you can grab something because as you know these guys move FAST and flit all over the place.

That's an advantage of the video mode, and being able to isolate a single frame.

Love all the pics. Still dealing with some sharpness issues myself... and catching the right moment.

Since we are sharing, I will add a couple of my favorites. I love shooting these birds. It's a challenge, but fun to do.

I actually spend a lot of time making friends with the birds that spend the summer (and winter) in our yard. They get so used to me that they will actually come to me and give me the opportunity to get good shots of them. I can stand very close to their feeder on the deck and they will come and drink while I am standing there. They quite often land on a branch close by and almost pose. Here's another that I got just recently.
