Was in Walmart today and while there stopped by the photo department to pick up an SD card for my 60D and noticed a generic IR trigger for Canon reduced from $10 to $8. Although the 60D was not listed on the legend of cameras the 7D was and I recall that they came out about about the same time with the same IR system, similar processor etc. To make a long story short I bought one and brought it home where it performed perfectly on my 60D. You have to set the drive mode on the camera to a icon that looks very much like a timer shooting mode but it works which is the good news.

The only reason I am posting this is that I hope that some people will find this information useful.

I bought a Nikon remote trigger from Walmart about a year ago for $10.00. Got it home, then found out my camera was not on the list of compatible equipment, so never tried it for several months. Finally decided either it was going to work or I was going to toss it so I gave it a try - works great!

For $8 to $10 and you want/need one, definitely worth the try.

Or take your camera with you and try it.

I got the Vivitar RC-200 remote.
It uses RF and not restricted to line of sight and light interference. Works great at 100'.
