Yes, I am one of those old guys who used to shoot a lot of transparency film, sold a few magazine covers (not Nat Geo!) but abandoned it all when it became apparent that digital was going to be the survivor. Putting what you wanted on a slide film, which could be tricky and unforgiving, was (and is) an art-form in itself, and I was unprepared to learn the language of photoshop and image stabilization. "f/8-and-be-there" was easy to understand.
Having somewhat relented now and bought an entry-level Nikon and 2 lenses that will hopefully give my grandchildren some remembrances, who knows - I might even find out what some of those other buttons actually do.

Yes, lots of good photogs here, their work in a bunch of art shops all over town. A very artsy little town that attracts retired folks, summer Floridites and other migratory motor-home dwellers towing a pickup truck behind and a golf cart in the pickup bed. Life is good. I'm a native, sort of after 50+ years.
