Well for one thing your comparing the Nikon a DSLR to the Sony a point-n-shoot. Kind of like comparing a Volkswagen Beetle to a Cadillac. Of course the Nikon will win in all categories.

Why are you comparing the Nikon D5000 series & Sony HX200V. The Nikon has interchangeable lenses, the Sony doesn't.

Having used both, a few of the advantages of the Sony include its good glass, the super telephoto capability, its one touch panorama capability, and its tremendous sensitivity in poor light. It is also lightweight and has a long-life battery.
