I think it's just hilarious when people talk about "blind faith" and considering both sides of an issue, then resort to name calling for the highest office in the land.
There are plenty of people who have great points about Obama's downfalls. There are plenty of great criticisms to be made about his presidency. But, when you resort to name-calling, make racist posts, imply he's something that he's proven a thousand times over he's not, you just make the people with valid opposition look stupid.
It's like Muslim and Jeremiah Wright thing. One day he's a part of his church and too close with a radical, the next it's that he's now a muslim.
It's like the government issue. Republicans want hands-off government, until it comes to regulating social issues... then please control it all, they say!

Any bets that when he is out of office he starts attending his local mosque? :hunf:

Thank you for proving my point. Does that mean he wasn't close with Jeremiah Wright then?
Unfortunately for you, guys like you are on the way out. :)
And don't get me wrong, Islam and Christianity, while a very good tool/sacred practice for some people to achieve happiness and overcome obstacles,, are equally ridiculous guesses and assumptions. You could say the same about atheism too.
The fact is that we don't know, and we're measly collections of stardust in a universe(s?) much bigger than us.
There are tons of things to criticize Obama for, but his religion and skin color (not that you said that) aren't included. That's the whole *ffing point of America, and why it's so frustrating when people talk about "the real America" in an exclusive or discriminatory way.

You are right, I should have said debt. I never said i disaproved banking regs, i said didnt like them when i was a banker. I also said some were necessary and when eased bad things happen, and they did. Dont put words in my mouth. And the deregulation did cause the recession.
Perhaps my understanding is simplistic, but I thought no deregulation occurred. What happened was that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lowered their eligibility standards for mortgages, and "encouraged" private banks to do the same. Because of Fannie and Freddie backing, banks had little incentive to continue high standards so lots of bad loans ensued. I put the blame on the quasi governmental agencies Fannie and Freddie for wanting to put "everybody" in their own house whether they could afford it or not. Banks, in general, are not stupid enough to give out loans that are almost sure to fail without the encouragement and support from a 'higher power".

The dismantling of Glass-Steagall eliminated the wall between merchant and commercial banking. This allowed banks to take risks with depositors money that they had never been allowed to take before. Fannie and Freddie were side shows.
Banks started taking portfolios of loans and breaking them up into mortgage backed securities and reselling them to investors. Since one investor never held a complete mortgage, only a bunch of tiny slivers of many mortgagees, this broke the basic and age-old relationship between borrower and lender.
When that relationship was broken, mortgage underwriting just went to hell. The theory (other than immense profits) was to spread the risk into many securities. After all, when an investor held a thousand pieces of a million mortgages, who cared if a few dozen mortgages stunk on ice, right?
This is oversimplifying, but that was the basic idea. Everything was fine as long as the property values kept rising and no one was the wiser. When home values stalled, many people found themselves under water and were forces into default and foreclosure. Thats she the whole ponzi scheme started to unravel.
Classic bubble burst brought to us by banking deregulation.

Oh yeah, that's a first. A politician playing politics. I'm embarrassed for you that you're surprised.
Again - there are plenty of policies, decisions and things he's failed/messed up on to be criticized for, but you only think he's a prick because you disagree with him, and probably because he's black judging from your other posts.
I'm not surprised you didn't really directly respond to a single point i made.
The good news is, guys like you are on the way out!
