Users, when you get an ink level indicator of 1% do you immediately change the cartridge or do you let it run completely out?

I have an Epson 3800, which is similar to your 3880. I keep using the printer until it requires an ink change, which can be quite a few printouts later. BTW, I love my 3800!

Thanks. When it runs out completely does it just stop in the middle of printing and resume when a new cartridge is installed?

My experience is that it quits when it 'thinks' that it cannot print another of the same size printout.

My 3800 will stop in the middle of a print, and restarts with no problem after the new cartridge has re-cycled. If I am printing a picture that I know uses a lot of black, I will replace the proper black cartridge in advance if it is at 1%.
