These are really nice, Erv. Great poses and composition on them both. I'd follow Bob's advice for the post work, which ought to help you.

Don't look at post-processing as a terrible chore you'll have to struggle to learn. It's not. Just have fun with it! Try something new every now and then, and before you realize what's happening, you'll find it's really pretty easy.

Thank you Bob. That is what I need. Pointed in the right direction. I have Elements and this was the first time I put a picture in it to try. I have no clue what to try. I have been tweaking my shots in Aperture till now. Before these would get deleted.:) Next question, can I use these to try or should I start over with the originals?
Erv
It's usually always best to go back to the originals.

Thank you Randy!!! I am to old school and like to get it close in the camera, so PP shouldn't be to bad. With the new camera though, right now a lot are going in the trash.:):) These were pretty bad, but I thought I would give it a try.:) It is not that it is work, right now work has me so busy I have been working 12 hours a day. So the camera time is more important. It is my relaxation from work.:):)

Erv, you may want to consider posting one of your cardinals to the PP Forum. That way you can see what can be done. If you choose that option, please submit an original and check (store original). I think you will be very pleased with the results.

Thanks Bob!!! I should have thought about doing that. I will get one posted today and see what I can learn.:):) But first I am going out to play. Why do vacation days go so much faster than work days? :):)

Remember that post processing does make a bad picture good, only better. That is quote from one of my old photography instructors. In his words, there are no bad pictures because they are all memories that we wanted to keep in front of us.

Hi Larry. I heard that a lot from my Grandfather when he was teaching me how to carve. I think it end with" you will always need fire wood" LOL!! Most of the bad ones with the trash can.:) There are a few I would like to try and save tho. You don't want to know how many memories I have on the hard drives. I scan about 200 a night and still have 4 box's to go.:):)
