The camera is a canon EOS 10D, with apx 6600 shots. The battery won't hold a charge. 1 Ultrasonic 28-80 Lens. 1 image stablizer 75-300 lens. Can't find the external flash yet.

If you are still interested send me your address and. I will ship it to you. Since it is for a beginner you have it for free. I am not using it anyway.

Hi,
I am looking for a starter dslr for my 11 year old nephew. Ideally either with one lens that can go wide and long or 2 kit lenses- one wide and one long. It would be great to have a bag and uv lens, etc. Looking to spend max of $300.
Thanks!
Alissa

Maximum of $300???!!!

You aren't going to find anything for that.

The cheapest refurbished Canon DSLR with two lenses is a Rebel T6 with EF-S 18-55mm IS II and EF 75-300mm III lenses for $360 at the Canon USA website. (This same kit sells new for $450 elsewhere.) https://shop.usa.canon.com/shop/en/catalog/cameras/refurbished-eos-interchangeable-lens-cameras#

That's Canon's most entry-level DSLR, lacking a lot of features, and a discontinued model as well (replaced by the T7, which isn't much better).

The lenses are Canon's cheapest and most entry level. The 18-55mm uses slow/noisy micro motor focus drive, but it has image stabilization and is okay optically. The 75-300mm also uses a slow/noisy micro motor, and it lacks image stabilization (which is more important on telephotos like this), and it has pretty poor image quality.

Canon USA's refurbished cameras and lenses are little different from new... And, in fact, they have the same warranty as new.

But, frankly, I wouldn't want the T6 camera or the lenses that are sold in kit with it!

The least expensive Nikon currently avail. with two lenses is their D3500 with AF-P 18-55mm VR DX and AF-P 70-300mm DX lenses. It costs $497 for that kit at reputable stores (you might find "gray market" a little cheaper elsewhere, but with Nikon gray market is particularly risky... no warranty and they will refuse to repaire, if needed... Nikon also won't supply parts to shops who will work on their cameras). I don't know what they offer refurbished at Nikon USA (unlike Canon, I believe they treat them as used, with shorter 90 day warranty).

The least expensive Canon DSLR I'd consider would be the Rebel SL2 with EF-S 18-55mm IS "STM" lens, which is currently available refurbished for $440. The camera is a step up from the T6 (or T7) in a number of ways: self cleaning sensor, articulated LCD screen, newer/better 24MP sensor and more. The "STM" lens is also better than the "II" version sold with the T6/T7, withe faster & quieter auto focus.

That Canon SL2 deal is a one-lens kit. It doesn't include a telephoto lens. That would need to be bought separately. I'd recommend the EF-S 55-250mm IS STM. It's a MUCH better lens in all ways than the EF 75-300mm. Refurbished the EF-S 55-250mm IS STM sells for $240 (new it's about $300). There is also a "II" version of that lens that's about $50 cheaper, same in most respects, but slower/noisier micro motor focusing. So an SL2 with two decent lenses is going to cost more than double what you wanted to spend... about $680 refurbished. (Considerably more if bought new.)

Surely in your enthusiasm to add your input, you noticed the last update prior to yours was August 17, 2014 .... And a quick scan of the update before that seems to indicate a camera was purchased.
