What kind of birds are these?

What birds are these I do not know
I found them where the marshes grow
Pleased with shots the SX 50 yields
Here in the Sarasota Celery Fields.

I've never seen these birds before.
Thanks for your help!

It looks like black birds I hope I am right
They are really quite a sight
Some might call them a grackle too
I don't think I would want them in my stew.

How cute your poem.
They may be Boattail Grackles.

Grackles have yellow eyes. These look like common crows that are molting except for the bluish feathers on the body.

Did some research. Adult crows have greenish blue gloss on their wing caps and bluish violet gloss on the bodies.

Thanks, Yooper.

You have inspired me to do some research as well. This web site has some pictures and explanations. It turns out that Florida grackles have dark eyes. I so love learning new things!

I'm not sure, Oz, but I'd guess grackle or black bird. Very good shots!
