Ok along with the idea of either printing yourself on inkjet or getting them done at Costco or such - I am venturing off into dry mounting onto mats or poster or foam core boards. I have a 18x24 dry mounting press and about to begin testing the process - any suggested tips on this? I worry about the heat harming the print, especially the inkject versions. If someone has seen a good tutorial you could point that out too.

I have dried mounted from time to time but more often tip-in ( lazy more than anything)

When dry mounting inkjet prints I use the same temperature range for rc papers

Some offer prints to be ordered already mounted on foam board at little extra cost . Wolf Camera did it for me, unfortunately they went out of business in this area. Check Costco , perhaps they have that service. Good luck.

I dry mount most of the prints I sell. I also have a press and have found some great new products that work very well, are much simpler to use than the old tissue mounting method, are safe to use with your prints, and yield great results.

I have switched over to using a product called KoolTack. It is a foam board with a Ph neutral adhesive. It will mount your print beautifully in 20 seconds at only 150 degrees (a safe temperature that will not harm your print). I use a silicone release board over the print when it is in the press (or you can use release paper if you prefer. Note: when using a dry mount press, even at low temperatures lke in this instance, you must protect the print using a release paper or board). It yields a very smooth bonding without any harm to prints. I have yet to experience any "orange peeling" or damage on any papers I have used, from regular photo papers to inkjet papers.
