We came home from Church this morning to be greeted by this beauty this morning.
I believe the name correct name of this one is "Little Blue Heron", Believe the Ornithology is: "Egretta cerulea" or in that family of Birding..
If some one knows the proper terms appreciate the Education there of.
Positon on Hedge and large Oak Tree background not the best to display coloring of this bird.
Nikon D-600, 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 - Aperture mode, iso 200..
Blessings,
tom
really interesting capture!
That's pretty cool! What do you think it was hunting there?
Maybe it was shy and was hiding so you wouldn't take his picture...

To all Thanks for the comments, have lots to learn...just an old man age 74 with a camera playing.
It is the beginning of our West Central Rainy Season, I suspect our yard has some grubs or earth worms stirring, thus came by for lunch. Next thing to show up will be Armadillo's plowing up the sod for grubs...guess I need to call lawn pest control..
We are on the very edge of a large Preserve as I recall about 12,000 acres called Starkey Park...from what I have read the Family Starkey was a large Settlement Ranch Family in the Area. When the Ancestor's passed away the Family was left Land Rich and Dollar Poor...thus in Order to give our Wonderful big Government it's due Inheritance of a Hard Families work....they had to work our some kind of land giving to Government to settle thing up...I may be a tad wrong on the details...Anyway there is a large area of unsettled Acreage, some swamp, some pine/palmetto land....a small portion is a park, picnic's camping, horse riding, walking, etc. at one time relative free access...now like all Public Property a Fee to Enter and a Fee to Breath the Air...Excuse my Sarcasm...duh..
Thanks to all for looking at my attempt on the bird.
