That is what I have heard. I used to drive from my USMC base in NC to just above NYC on weekends and went past DC often. I just never thought to stop in. Of course The Wall was not there yet and I especially want to see it.

Well, first of all, thank you for your service! Second...you owe it to yourself to go.
Be sure you get to Arlington National Cemetery...its quite moving and once there see the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown.
