Since when is stating a fact lunacy except among those who hate the truth?

Obama and his czars would travel to Japan, bow to the Emperor and say

Just a ridiculous response, influenced by Obama hatred!

Wrong - Obama is unable to work with anyone; he's demonstrated that since day one. Narcissism to the max.
Just ask the Senate how many bills have been passed by the House and are sitting, gathering dust, on Reid's desk - over 300. He's chosen to be the president of "NO!"

Hold on there Billy Bob (no relation, thank God). You're blaming Obama because Congress refuses to act. Lunacy x 3.

Stupid question. Yes, he would ask Congress to declare war just as Roosevelt did in '41.

And congress would promptly go on vacation.

And Obama would go to fundraisers, golf outings and Martha's Vineyard.

I understand the President is also going on another Vacation, Congress took advantage and scheduled its vacation accordingly.

Unfortunately not. Here just this last week a Chinese student attending USC was beaten to near death on the streets of Los Angeles in what was apparently a gang initiation. He later died of the injuries.Four suspects have been arrested and all are Latino,2 are underage "children" and one is Illegal.

This goes on and we still want to feel sympathetic to the poor children that are crossing the Texas border. What is the administrations definition of Children, under12 ,under 18, or under 21. I watch the news and see lots of these children appear to be closer to the 21 year old limit. Facial hair. Tattoos.

Let's be clear. People are pouring across the border with impunity because of the laws passed by Congress essentially granting asylum to Central American kids while subjecting Mexican immigrants to deportation proceedings. The entire process takes years to run its course. While it's easy to blame the President, the facts are more persons have been deported under his administration than any other President in modern history. Get the facts. As I indicated, lunatics abound in this forum.

Yea, it really worked great for South Africa? Which is it, are you uninformed, a damn fool, or just saying things you think/hope will make your hero Obama look good. South Africa TODAY is a crime ridden hell hole where death and street violence is normal. If you have the misfortune of visiting South Africa, you will meet your body guard group at the airport, and they will stay with you until you leave. In fact, a good body guard company, will include in your agreement, to escort your body and coffin to the airport should their services prove less than successful. Yea, a real story of sucess in financial and economic sanctions.

And for Russia, let not even dwell on Ukraine, or the Crimea. Lets just admit that they are developing ground lunch intermediate range (300-400 mile) ground launched cruise missiles, in direct violation of US/USSR treaties.

As for my alternative, I am NOT the Secretary of State, the POTUS. That is why we hired those people, and if the are incompetent in their jobs, we need to fire them. I don't argue with the professionals I hire, if they can not perform in the job successfully, I fire them, and find someone who can, be it Major Governmental Position, or a septic tank emptier.

BTW, this question about incompetent government employees reminded me, you haven't yet answered a question I asked of you previously. Did you get one of those for the good of the service discharge papers when you left the service?

They seem to be starting to work with Russia now.

I would say they are better than an alternative which you do not present.

Here is an interesting article which presents both views on sanctions.

I was in Russian before the collapse and after it. All I know is that it is a gangster system where everyone can be bought. Yu want a light bulb you have to pay! If the capital needed to make payoffs is not there it will be hard times for Putin.
I would say they worked well when it came to South... (show quote)

Now, you answer the Obama hypothetical question.

Of course Obama (or any president-politician) would ask congress to declare war. In addition to the obvious self-defense reasons, the alternative of not seeking a declaration of war would harm the incumbent president's political party for decades. This consideration was a factor in convincing Truman to use atomic bombs in Japan (when the motive for developing them had been for use against the Nazis). How would Americans have reacted when learning years later that the tens of thousands of US soldiers lost in an invasion of the home islands might have been saved if Truman had approved the use of the atomic weapons.

Do some reading, the facts are that deportations are not up, just the way they are tallied has changed. Check the article posted earlier.

"The number of unaccompanied minors illegally crossing Texas' southern border with Mexico has dipped dramatically over the past month, though reasons for the decrease are elusive."
