Once you check out the many tutorials available ( mostly on YOUTUBE) you will have a much better idea of its capabilities.

I use it instead of CS6 to change backgrounds when the subject has a lot of fur or hair. ( Such as a lion with an ugly fence behind).

You will like it. As with all software it takes a bit of practice. Why did you buy Re mask 3 when 4 is out. It's a free upgrade anyway.

Welcome to the Hog. You'll meet lots of folks with great ideas who will help you all they can and then, there are some others. I upgraded to ReMask 4 and have had no troubles, but maybe I'm just lucky! As noted above, there are some really good video tutorials, so the learning curve, while steep, it manageable.

FYI- Topaz came out with Remask4. You should be able to update free of charge. If you didn't get an email notification contact them.

FYI_ When you update a Topaz plug-in and using photofx lab or fx express, make sure these programs are the latest versions or you won't see the update of the plug-in.

As you've been told, ReMask 4 is out (a free upgrade). It's probably one of my two or three most important post processing tools. With practice (and it does take some), it makes generating accurate masks a breeze. The remaining part of the image (after the masked stuff has been removed) is place on a separate layer. And layers are where it's at -- I've had as many as four stacked so I could get the right processing on various parts of my images. Just my opinion, but I think it's worth 3 or 4 times what they charge for it.

Remask 4 is half price til end of month. Of course, as usual updates... 3 to 4 are free. Review I read from ? compared the masking programs and Topaz was the better one.

As usual PS people will say they can do all that in PS... well yes... but learning curve and also more work for fine detail. (I suspect)

Those problems were probably the ones caused by Norton Internet Security deleting the download claiming there was a virus. Since then Topaz has contacted Symantec about this issue. After disabling download intelligence, everything went fine. I'm using ReMask 4 and have not encountered any problems. When removing difficult backgrounds it blows away OnOne Perfect Mask.

I've used it, but it is not a cure all. Some things just take a bit long to accomplish.
