I caught this lovely bird grooming itself!
Of course it's my favorite bird.

I sure do love this SX 50

Any comments to improve these photos are greatly appreciated.

Very nice shots and a beautiful subject. The colors in #1 are wonderful. I always enjoy seeing roseate spoonbills, both in photos and real life.

Great shots !

To improve them you might underexpose by 2/3 of an FStop so that the white areas are not blown out.

As you shoot in RAW, you can then adjust contrast, shadows ...etc to obtain proper and realistic dynamic range.

I don't know how far away I was, maybe 100 yards?

Iwas using my Sony HX 50 which has a 30x zoom not the Canon SX 50 which has a 50x zoom.

Very nice!

A few comments:
1. Crop numbers 1 and 4 but make sure to include the entire reflection.
2. Remember to include the reflection, especially when you have such still water, as it adds to the balance of the composition. Did you crop to this composition or do numbers 2 and 3 represent the entire frame?

I would suggest you be on a monopod at higher magnifications. The highlights and color in general is washed out - the relative dark backround dictates you go minus on the exposure compensation ....

I cropped them all.

Thanks for your comments. Would you like to see the originals?
