The images I took on Saturday were a test in PP more than a demonstration of fauna images. I was walking the dog at the local pond as I normally do when this Anna's Hummingbird pops up front of me. It decided to begin feeding on the Buckeye blossoms, which happen to be the only ones left on the tree from this year.
I knew I would only have a moment to capture this image, but the sun was almost directly behind the bird. I was getting a huge solar flare, but I just kept shooting anyway...hoping for the best.
After downloading the images into LR I said"OMG these are Crap!" The timing was good, and the focus was not optimum, but the exposure and flare was ugly. I decided to work the images and see what I could salvage from the wreck. Here is what I came up with. I will also include the original so you can see the changes. I also noticed my sensor required cleaning, which I did yesterday. Now I am off to Oregon for a week.
I will also toss in a couple of other shots that require working as the lighting was very poor. These were all hand-held grap shots from the shore. I didn't bring the monopod, which I probably should have. Enjoy.

Excellent set, David. I like your PP work--it enhances without that overcooked 'artsy' look. :-)
Good job @ PP. Pat
Beautiful images as always, David, and good information as well.

I like the Greenie in #7. They are very skittish here. How close were you?

Thanks Donna. Sorry I didn't get back sooner as I have been up north in Oregon. I did post a few from there today. I have a host more to come.
There is also a separate post with three images of a waterfall. I show how I cleaned up some people from the scene from the first two images to attain the 3rd.
I remembered you were in Oregon, David, and hope you had a great trip. Will check out your latest posts.
