I guess this is the closest category in which to ask my question:
A grandson recently asked me about pinhole cameras, & I told him what I could remember from my B.D. (Before Digital) days. But
on thinking it over, I wondered if a pinhole camera might be made
by using an old film SLR & making the pinhole in the body-cap, or in a piece of card masking the opening?
Any suggestions/comments out there, please?
Yes, absolutely!
And you can use a body cap the same way on a DSLR, too.

As stated previously, yes. A body cap with a precise, very small hole in it will work. There are some out there that are pre-fabbed just for that purpose.

I'll give it a go, Bob.
Thanks again.

You can make one with a shoe box. simply tape the lid all around with black tape - make a pin hole in the long end and there you go. Of course you need a light sensitive material in the box at the opposite end to the pin hole. But it really is that simple. We did it this way at technical college about 55 years ago.

Thanks, infocus. Yes, that's how I remember p[inhole cameras,
& how I suggested my grandson make one. Then I wondered if
a pinhole in a body-cap would do the same job, & from what
I've subsequently discovered, it will. But somehow that
takes all the fun out of it - know what I mean?
Thanks again for replying....guess you're an old-timer,as I am!
