Butterfly and chrysalis follow-up

I took your advice and tried to get the a time-laps series of pics of the butterfly emerging from the chrysalis. I checked on the chrysalis a lot for two days. This morning I noticed a change in color on the chrysalis. There were some noticeable dark spots so I thought the game was on. I setup my 5D-III and 100mm 2.8 and did some test shots. I settled on f-14 1/200s @ iso 200. I set it on my tripod with my macro slide rail and I used my wireless remote. I checked on it about every 20 to 30 minutes. I went inside to read the UHH blog and check on you guys. When I went back to check on it he was already out and a couple inches away. Bummer I didn't get the money shot but I kept on it and this is the results from my work. I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
P.S. I found one more chrysalis on the back side of the plant so I still have another shot.

Thanks for taking the time to do this. A very nice series and well shot. If you decide to shoot the other chrysalis, a shorter interval seems in order.

So neat. I'd want to carry it around so I wouldn't miss the moment :) And how fast it happened!

I cared for a monarch chrysalis years ago, and seems like was a few days after you could see the color before it emerged, but I might be remembering wrong :)
