Nikon D300s vs Fuji X100s

My Nikon D300s has been my go to camera since it came out in 2008. I recently purchased a fantastic Fuji X100s which is only about a year old and has much newer technology. I love both, but I really thought that the Fuji would give me much better images, but I find that my old Nikon warhorse stand up pretty well against the new kid on the block... even at high ISO, the Nikon, with a little noise reduction, stands up pretty well !

And people still wonder why the D300s commands $1300 new today.

Although I don't own a Fuji X100s, I've seen plenty of posted images from that camera, all which strongly indicate that it is a very capable camera.

Perhaps you could take a picture of the same scene with both cameras so we can compare. Of course I don't know that I would ever give up my Nikon

X100s is a great camera, but at that price I'd rather have something that I can swap lenses on. Don't get me wrong, the 23mm f2 lens is spectacular, I just like to have options. I got to play with one this weekend (my brother in laws), the hybrid viewfinder is great, but I was happy to get back to my rig. If I had to choose between the d300 or the x100s, I would choose the smaller lighter x100s.

I wanted to post pictures with both cameras under similar conditions, but for some reason they would not load... I'll try again.

I know people rave about some cameras, especially the unusual ones like the X100s, and many have excellent image quality. But most times the "old standbys" hold their own, at least for a few years. :-)

I own the X100s and absolutely love it and keep it with me everyday. I would also like the ability to changes lenses but the picture quality from the Fuji is amazing.
