Has anyone experience any decent remote software for Nikon (I shoot with a D7000) tethered/wired to a laptop. I just uploaded Nikons Pro 2 Trial...and seems to be working fine, but not sure about the price! Yikes..... Free is good but if it works without any glitches Im fine in spending a few bucks.
Thanks!

I use Sofortbild. It's free but only works on OS-X.

Good Evening Thom,

Do a google search for software titled "dcamcapture" This is a program originally produced in German that will tether any camera to a computer via a USB cable. It is free. You may need to do a little searching to find a good download link. Most of the download links have been translated to English. I think you will find it very useful and, as I said, it is a free program.

Thom,

I see you are in Cleveland Ohio and I'm in lakewood next door, we have a camera club called Lakewood Photographic Society and meet the first three Tuesdays each month, tonight I'm doing my second of three photoshop classes. In case you might wish to join our club, let me know. Also let me know how you get on with the remote, I too have a D7000.

Regards

Lucian

I did, and Todd let me have the Timelord time lapse software, AND the Master software for remote control for the combined price of $15 US. That's $10 less than individual.
I would have bought the tether program, but I have no need for it.

It's now on sale for $19.95, for a limited time. Not a bad price.

I like the idea of time lapse, and I bought some controllers to do just that. However, when I realized I'd be taking hundreds or thousands of shots on my DSLR to get a short film, I changed my mind. Instead I got a little Brinno TLC 200 time lapse camera. Simple pushbutton operation, very adjustable, and it does nice time lapse videos.

Not my original post. I was just supporting your suggestion to contact Todd, which you suggested to me in another post. The camera still has to be tethered for time lapse and remote control.
