They can help you here. I, too, an new to DSLR's. I've shot film since about 1967.
So, I find I'm lost quite often when trying to deal with this confounded computer with a lens. :lol:

There's plenty of photographers that do everything from Macro to Astronomical Photography and everything in between. If you have a question, just ask.
One thing about this forum I have to warn you about and that is that it's very addictive. So be careful. :)

Welcome. I am new to the forum (about 4 weeks) and to DSLR photography. The people on here are great - vey helpful and eager to share their expertise. It most certainly is addictive. Ask questions, noodle around in the different topics and learn more than you could ever imagine.

I heard that people choose to leave there wide angle macro lense on even for general photography. I am having fun with it. You can get some good shots with it on.
