Welcome to Day 42 :) Today it's all about lighting ... Back Lighting to be exact. However we are going to extend that to include natural backlighting .. such as the sun through trees for example. As long as the major part of the lighting is coming from the back side of your subject.
I tried to set up some decent examples on this subject but they didn't turn out how I was picturing them in my mind. So I will work on that today myself. Here are a few examples of natural backlighting .. plus a few pain medicine induced examples of how Not to do it LOL.
I look forward to seeing what y'all come up with.
We were working with lighting in class on Wednesday night. So here is one from then. Later this morning, I will work on something else.
not sure if u consider these back-lit or not but this is what I have .... new and learning

Mornin' Folks. PG, hope you're doing better today.
1st cup try......
PG57...glad to see you up and running..oops not to fast now..those drugs make you feel like you can do anything but you are still healing...take it easy.
RR...love the new years celebration with wino glasses.
I posted mine from the archives on yesterdays post with settings PG but looks like you dont really need them...those flower shots are very cool.
oh pooh...double post...so ill let you know it is snowing here and add a pic...SIDE LIT
RR...I really like the bedroom scene. New Years eve is good also.
My early morning trips out. My wife loves it there..no cooking, no dishwashing, no vacuuming, bedmaking and on and on. for me? No General Hospital
Ocean View, Norfolk, VA
Rivera Maya
Grand Palladium
Side lit is cool! That would be a really neat shot on a barn using sidelight+backlight, a bit in between both, so as the barn windows would be lit up at one end and gradually the lighting gets lower so as the last window would be fairly dark.

Might as well do it now cuz I won't be here fer long....too nice outside.
Ironic..here is a grounded sub and a few hundred feet away is a lighthouse....reminds me of a certain Costa captain, sort of aiming for the light but barely missing it.
That sub BTW is a huge tourist attraction and they even have a restaurant aboard. Never been there, spent eight years sailing and have no problem avoiding it
