Looks like I screwed up. Bought an 18-135 is STM for the wife in a White Box. Amazon description assured a USA warranty. When the lens arrived today there was no warranty.
Got in touch with Amazon and got no satisfaction. Said it was 3rd party (Electronics Basket) and to get in touch with them. Can't find any contact info.
Don't really want to send the lens back, but I want the warranty that was advertised.
Live and learn I guess.

Tell your credit card company that it is a disputed sale, product delivered is not as advertised. They will start an investigation.

If they assured a warranty in the ad, you should demand one, or you can sue the shit out of them!

If they claimed that there was a U.S. warranty, I believe that they are obligated to honor the warranty. They need to be the ones that contact the vendor as they are an agent of that vendor.

As others have said, the seller will have to make good on their claims about the warranty. First of all get a copy of the ad. If you can do so in the presence of a lawyer, judge, cop, notary public or even a worker at the Apple Genius Bar, they can swear that the copy is as posted. Then go to Amazon. No, they were not the seller, but it sounds like the seller is out of the USA, but Amazon is in Seattle and subject to US law. It also sounds like there was a conspiracy to defraud you, and that makes Amazon either a co-conspirator or an accessory before the fact. Here is Amazon's location:

I wonder if you can check with Canon about the lens being designated for authorized US sale using the serial number? I think the vendor cannot give you a US warranty if it doesn't have one, only Canon can.

Many times the U.S. warranty they advertise is a warranty redeemable through the seller and not through the manufacturer. I would check the description on Amazon if there is a link to an online registration process, or on the invoice that came with the lens if there was one, or in any emails that were sent to you by the seller.
The really great thing about buying anything from Amazon is the free return if there is something wrong with the item, (which in your case there is, it doesnt match the description if there is no warranty), they will even refund your money before they recieve the item.
Just read the description on Amazon, it says it is a Canon 1 year U.S. warranty... I guess it's time for you to start yelling at some people...
Two things:
1.) You really should read the reviews on Amazon before pushing the "buy" button, there are literally DOZENS of reviews saying the exact same thing you just did about this seller.
2.) Contact seller through Amazon and get a refund as fast as you can then go to a reputable store or a guaranteed Amazon purchase and call it a learning experience.
Trying to save $50.00 on a lens by going with shady sellers doesn't work out.

Well...Amazon is reputable, and they haven't really done anything wrong in this instance either; this is a 3rd party seller and the buyer hasn't tried to resolve the issue yet...so it's a bit early for throwing Amazon under the bus....no?

The product isn't FULFILLED by Amazon...it's just posted in the marketplace.
If a person buys a product FULFILLED by Amazon, then Amazon is liable.
In either case, Amazon will make it right...but the buyer hasn't even pursued that avenue yet...
