Zoom Lens Recommendations for Canon Rebel T2i

I am a novice at photography and have a Canon Rebel T2i which works great for my limited knowledge and skills. I want to invest in a zoom lens to take "up close and personal" photographs of flowers. Also would like to invest in one to bring in landscapes closer in. Do I need 2 different zoom lenses? Any suggestions?

I have a T3i and use the 55-250 kit lens for flower and leaf close-ups. I've been super happy with it.

As for using with landscapes, that just depends on how up close and personal you want to get :)

Thanks Linda! I appreciate your recommendation. I want to get very close with the flowers, and take it that a 55-250 kit will get me the "closeness" I am looking for?

My experience with flowers about 3-4 inches in diameter is with a 17-55 2.8 lens. I have been pleased with the results.
I do not have any experience with a lens that would bring the subject in closer. They are out there.

For a longer zoom, I would consider Tamron or Sigma, 70-300 or something close.

Hope this is helpful! Others will probably jump in.

I am going to ask you to consider a different option.
Think about the 200mm F/2.8L ii.

I think you will find these shots pretty close:

The depth of field is very shallow when zooming that far, and I should use a tripod more often, but I don't :)

I have the T3i and I have a 15-85 which to me is the perfect walk-around lens. I also have a 28-135, and the 75-300. I take a lot of flower pictures with my 15-85 and it works great. I have attached three shots that I took with that lens just today.
