Was awoken by loud engines last Sunday around 7:00 AM in Bologna, Italy and discovered the "Mille Miglia" rally point right below my window! If you are a "car person" you will understand my excitement in discovering this event right in my "back yard".....But I couldn't ID the this car....Can you?

Looks like a convertible model or later model of this car:

http://www.powerful-cars.com/php/renault/1954-4cv-autobleu-mille-miles.php?p=imperial

Renault 4CV happens to have been my first car when I was a kid.....although not with that "autobleu" (hand made?) body ! lol
PS. I know I had an "autobleu" header on my engine, small 4 cyl engine under 1000cc at the time....ran like a bat outta hell though ! :)
PPS. they say it is a "rare, priceless" car !

You are right Tucson Coyote it is a 4cv Renault Auto bleu , there was one in pieces 18 years ago in Vermont , the next year I went back and someone from France came and hauled it back there . Nice little bombs ,like the Gordini R8 so to speak

I don't know what it is but it sure is UGLY.
Seems like the uglier they make those foreign cars the more people rave over them.

Ugly is an opinion. I don't think it is ugly at all.

Well Bart, everyone has their own taste in cars, I personally think that the new cars coming off the assembly lines today are nothing short of ugly. I really enjoy the picture of the car posted, it has character and style. I also think that the Buick Rivera of the 1999 vintage was one of the most beautiful cars we ever produced.

There were at least a dozen gull wings! I figure at any one time there was over $5.0 million in iron in my "backyard"!
