I was walking into the marsh during the Gator Mating Season and saw this gator watching me walk by. The moon was full but he wasn't in the light. I didn't want to use a flash and run him off. I set up the tripod and waited on him to swim into the light. About 15 minutes later he started moving and actuly stopped right in the beam of light from the moon. He let me take about 10 shots before he went under. this is a 3 Raw shot HDR [Photomatix] Shot with a Canon 5D and a Canon 24/105 lens @ ISO 200 - 1/30 th second - F8 & 1 stop under and 1 stop over.
Yeah, I see you
Very nice. I don't know as I would want to be sitting in the dark trying to get this shot though.

I wasn't real crazy about it myself. I couldn't get anyone to go with me that morning either. I was hoping to get one of the big bull gators doing the vibration thing but it didn't happen. This is from a different angle. Another HDR also.. That's about all I got of him before he was gone.

Great photos. Also shows why one should not walk around the marsh in the dark. Wonder what else sitting in the dark watching you.
What you did, and how you did it with patience, experience and talent, is what puts you in a higher league than many of us. This, I predict, will become added to your all-time favorites list, and would be a contender in many contests. It is outstanding.
Yes they are both on my favorites. If for nothing else but how hard it was to make the shots. Very fast shooting and to get it to come out like I saw it in my mind. thanks.
Very good shot. I'm glad you joined the forum. Your posts are some of the ones that I look for now.

That is the part I struggle with seeing it in my mind before I take the picture. Hopefully that talent will come with time.
I am enjoying all of your photography, and maybe learning something in the process.
