Frankly i would love to actually see the news portrayed as it is not some left or right agendized (my word) pile of crap... What they call the news no matter who the talking head purveying it is, is commentary NOT news.
Just my 2 cents worth....

It would be nice, but there is just too much money involved. Slanted news draws specialized audiences, and advertisers. It's all part of the corruption of our political system, and democracy. Just about everything is about the money.

Hate, Hate, Hate the four letter word that GOP loves!
Thank you, I found these two GEMs close to the first sentence..
1) For example, people who watch Fox News, the most popular of the 24-hour
cable news networks, are 18-points less likely to know that Egyptians overthrew their
government than those who watch NO NEWS AT ALL
2) Fox News watchers
are also 6-points less likely to know that Syrians have not yet overthrown their
government than those who WATCH NO NEWS
Seems like an unfair poll to me...lol
Mike
Seems like so many of you watch only Fox, so you are limited in your information source and as a result indoctrinated by the right wing bias. I like to get my news from various sources: Fox news, MSNBC, NPR, The Wall Street Journal, The Chicago Tribune, The Chicago Sun Times, PBS, Time Magazine, CBS. A good mix of right, left and center. With a lot of different sources, I am able to make an intelligent analysis of any news story using my own mind. I don't have to rely on some overly hormonal blonde to help me think.
Put me down for Fox. Not only very attractive ladies, but the most intelligent of all other networks.

Robert (?) glad to join you in your observation of the dumbing down of America. Did you notice that the ghetto trash and trailer trash have removed their Obama stickers from the bumpers of their cars and yet they think that Obama is their savior. They truth is that they watch Stewart and Colbert on Clown Central for the news. My wife put in about the same amount of years in LAUSD trying to make a difference and she has a record to show she did with many students.
My 34 was with LAUSD, mostly in East LA, a year at Franklin Hi, 5 at John Marshall Hi, 15 at Belvedere Jr Hi and my last 13 at Garfield Hi.
At one point 6 of my fellow faculty at Garfield were former students (two in my dept) one's wife was also a former student, and a teacher. I met about 20 who were teachers somewhere by the time I retired. At least that many who worked in some other part of education. Two told me they became history teachers because of me. One said I was the only History Teacher he ever had who enjoyed the subject.
Still run into former students from time to time even though I now live in Corona, over 40 miles from any school I ever taught at.
Once I had a parent conference and was warned the parent was hostile, walked in, parent and I recognized each other (former student) and she promptly said, OK, how did my kid mess up? Guess I did something right when she was my student!

WOW I bet you really put a lot of thought into such a statement as this.
I hope you didn't overtax yourself with all that deep thinking.

You seem to resort to unfounded generalization about the resources people use to inform themselves. I'll bet a fair study of the Fox crowd would find they are quite adept at using the Web to inform themselves further. News aggregator sites such as lucianne.com, hotair.com and freerepublic.com (and lots more) link to articles from around the world (e.g., NYT, WaPo, LA Times, The UK Telegraph, the Guardian, etc.)
They may even be better informed than you.

That seems to be a "go to" word in the arsenal of certain progressives. I think the term is "projection".

I read his statement several times and I cannot find the word "hate" in that statement or anything else that infers "hate". Could you please share with us what in that statement is hateful?
I only watch Fox News and Fox Business for mainstream media. The others are nothing more than mouthpieces for the DNC.
