Nice, sharp photos of a beautiful bird. Am Goldfinches are year round residents in Missouri and Iowa but you may not recognise them. They turn a dull olive/brown over the winter. Nyger seed will often bring them to the feeder in winter.

We still have some molting into their yellow colours.

These are wonderful! I love #2. Looks like he's imitating a penguin. Really, its just such a different pose than birds typically give, it stands out amongst the masses!

Do you want to know how I got him to do it? It was easy. I just said to him, "You're not really a boy, are you?" Works every time!
