Wow! I love it. I take a lot of hummingbird shots (stop action where I freeze the wings. I have used PhotoShop to make a composite photo a lot like yours. Yours' is better is because it's Real!

The shot was about 3200 sec ISO400 which I always use just for one stop, many days out there and many shots, many good but loved this one.. Thanks

Great catch Wombat! Those kind don't come around often. Also, please allow me to suggest that when you reply to someone, you click on the "Quote Reply" button. That includes their post in with yours and shows us to whom you are responding. Otherwise, it's often very difficult to determine who your comment is intended for. If a person you're replying to is long winded like me, you can cut out a lot of their message by deleting some of it between their opening "quote=???" and the "/quote" which begins and ends their comment. Thanks.

Great sharpness and fantastic job of putting your birds together Davethehiker. Can't tell it's a composite.

Now my head is swollen. I didn't mean to usurp your topic but I have taken a lot of photos of hummers and combined them in various way. I'm attaching another that includes a magnifying glass so you can see the detail that prints have.

This is a screen capture from Software I use to process my images.

I gave a class at my house where I had the local camera club to my place and everyone had a chance to take humming bird photos in real time and see the results.

Yesterday I ordered a Sony A77M2 because I think it will enable me to take much better pictures of the hummers. If it works I'll be giving another class.

Here is a link to a write up I did that explains how I take my Hummingbird photos.:
