Thanks for the info Vicky, Even on my trips to the States I have never seen one
Geoff
Come to San Francisco and stop by my place just north of the city. I think we have 5 pairs (at least).
You're getting really good at these, Vicki! I enjoy each and every one. Haven't seen a single hummer at our feeders yet this year, but shouldn't be long now.

Most of the time I get the same kinds of shots as you'll see in the first. Today I was also able to get some that were a bit different.
I hope you enjoy these.

Some mornings I feel like all I do is try to get shots of these guys. I've been ready for something different, and my wish came true with the appearance of a Rufus pair. They don't frequent the feeders, but I've seen them a couple of times now and hope they'll stick around if the Anna's don't run them off.
Yours are probably waiting to be sure the cold is officially gone before they make the journey north. You get the Ruby Throats I believe. They'll be spectacular.
Thanks so much for the kind comment. As long as people don't get tired of them, I'll keep posting, making every effort to find different and unusual angles.

I'm glad you enjoyed these Fons. They're fascinating little birds. I'm always amazed at how small they really are, but like little jewels in the garden.

Very nice. I really love #3. I think the difference in focus draws you into the photo and makes it more compelling.
Love #3 as well. Wonderful lighting. Can you describe the lighting source/placement?
