I was watching this forum for 2 months and found it very interesting and useful. I am photo amateur without special education in this field. I am making a lot of mistakes taking and editing my pictures and very often I do not know what i did wrong. I do not have experienced friends who can give me good advice. I have 2 Nikon cameras D50 with 2 kit lenses and D700 with Nikkor 24-70mm AF-S
1:2,8G and 70-200mm 1:2,8 G. Also I have 2 prime lenses 20mm and 50mm, Nikon SB-600 flash light.
I was in France for downhill skiing 3 weeks ago and took pictures. To Introduce myself I want to share 1 picture from this trip and my first attempt to create HDR from 5 images of my street from my kitchen. Also I want to share a picture of night Manhattan

Skiing was very good. To remind you Alps I place one more picture from my last trip.
B&W Alps
Welcome. I like the last 2 photo the best. Nice work and can't wait to see some more photos.
Love the B&W Alps...brought back many memories !
Welcome to the forum. I was skiing in Big Sky Montana last week and have several scenes that I want to try making into HDR images. Hope I'm as successful as you were (I've never tried HDR before, but did some reading and took some shots with the intention of combining them into HDR shots)
Do you carry an SLR while skiing? I haven't found any way to carry the SLR while skiing (I'm a novice at skiing as well as photography :). So far, I've only used my little point-n-shoot while skiing but would love to take my D200 on a few trips.

Thanks for the bag link. I have a bigger tamarac, but it's backpack style only, no way to sling it in front of you.
I've seen lots of references to Photomatix here. I believe you can get it as trial-ware, and the basic pgm is only $39.
