Got bored today with this lousy grey weather. Think I might as well have done nothing! What do you think?
Before
After
Well done!
Reminds me of the lines from Tennyson:
"The splendor falls on castle walls..."

HD is great when there is a lot of contrast so a grey day is not the best sort of lighting condition for textured subjects like the castle wall. Tone mapping can reduce the contrast even more. On such days, stick to shooting flowers & portraits and scenery without the sky.
To improve the above 'after' image, increase the contrast and add a blue to the burnt out sky through the window.

Nice job.
You got and did something. That's always better than doing nothing. And I do like the HDR.
Thanks for your comments
Andy-j. IMHO, I would str8en this out and might crop out the top window because it doesn't have enough bricks above it to make it look balanced. I would also drop exposure maybe .5 or so. This has potential keep working on it.

This is what HDR is for. It brings out subtle shadows and adds depth to images. Well done!
second pic is really nice, not over cooked
