And the last thing I would ever tell anyone is to consider only manufacturers products. The after market has, in many ways, caught up with and even exceeded then in both quality and selection. And quite often with better warranties and service also. I am a Nikon shooter yet less than half my lenses are Nikon brand. In most cases because Nikon does not offer a particular lens, and in a couple of cases because the Nikon lens has been equalled at a significantly lower price point. I also find it almost impossible to recommend Canons lenses over aftermarket lenses because of canons refusal to offer more than a piddly one year warranty on their often grossly over priced selection.
Everyone has opinions and you should always stick with your beliefs, but you should do so with an open mind. THAT is why I could never agree with your statement.
Oh, and I have over 5000 posts so I guess that means I should just go away according to other posts you have made tonight?
I hope you can now see the fallacy, and danger, of making such blanket statements.
And the last thing I would ever tell anyone is to ... (show quote)

I totally agree with you about Canon.I shoot Canon but I'll buy Sigma lenses because they are more affordable and offer a 7yr. warranty in Canada.

Oh good grief, can we ever get away from the racist bullshit!

Not when people start talking brand prejudice. Sounds just like racial prejudice back in the day.

No it doesn't, and if you think it does, then that says more about you than it does about anyone else.

You have got to be kidding me. So if I were to say, "I really hate Pepsi, but, I really like Coke", that would sound like racial prejudice to you? I'm sorry but you have a serious problem that really needs to be looked into.

Wrong comparison. What was going on was more like "People who drink both Pepsi and Coke are morons"

I can swap with no problem at all. I should for the teams for free because I enjoy shooting and watching the sport. Don't make my living by this for sure. I did sell some CD's of a kids hockey game... my big business venture, LOL.

Maybe I am missing something. Hockey is a fast paced game. Do you have a second camera body or do you expect to swap lenses mid play.

How about if the people that can't understand apples to apples just give it up and find some barbies to play with.

So ... let me get this straight .... you contend that comparing the use of a Sigma lens on a Nikon body to racial prejudice is ... apples to apples ????!!!????

I asked a simple question about a lens and all this BS is so stupid. Feel like I'm dealing with a bunch of kindergarten children who have to be told to play nice. What a bunch of bananas...... By the way I ordered the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 EX DC OS HSM from B&H and should have it by the 10th. Thanks for all that good info...... LOL!

I agree! All of you on a tangent needed to take it someplace else a long time ago. And good choice on the Sig, I know you'll enjoy it.

Sorry but I find insinuating someone is a racist for no reason to be just about as repugnant as it gets and I don't just shy away from a fight about it. Your indignation should be directed at the one poster who started all of this. Oh well, this is the last I'll say about it.

Say Rallon, ever hear this statement..." The fish stinks from the head to the tail." In short it was and equipment question and that was all it was. For all of you who jumped on the band wagon and for all the posters of the BS I did not ask about racial issues, it was a lens issue. Short and sweet, time to grow up guys and stick to the questions and don't start running off on your own agenda, PERIOD! Thanks to all, I think?
