Who uses Lightroom and would you like to share the ins and out of it with those of us, who are trying to learn this software?

Lightroom is an immensely powerful tool but it is not free. By that, I mean Lightroom will cost you considerable time and effort developing and polishing your skills. If you do not have the time or cannot dedicate the effort, get something easier like Faststone (donation ware) and do not waste your money on Lightroom.

I have Lightroom 4, my husband bought it for me in Dec 2012 and I have found some awesome presets but I'm not sureif I am missing the true Lightroom settings.

I am retired and I have all the time I need to perfect my images.

You can get some great tips on using Light Room

Just go to Youtube.com and type Light Room 4 in to the search bar.

There are many helpful videos you can google.
There's lots of good information on the Adobe website, and links to more videos. Julianne Kost's are quite good.
The Lightroom Queen (Victoria Bampton) has a great site devoted entirely to lightroom
To me, it is essential to have a good basic book. Lots of folks like the Lightroom books by Kelby or Evening. I prefer Bampton's ebook and Van Der Eynde's ebook available through Craft and Vision.
There's also good information on the Post Processing section of the UHH forum
It is worth spending time with every day till you figure it out. Lightroom is way more than the presets.

Kost is my heroine. Very good at covering one section at a time and stays focused.

Go to www.adobe.creativelive.com and check their tutorials. I think it is free to watch, but you can pay to download a copy. Very good stuff by instructors who know their stuff. Look for tutorials by jack Davis, in particular. Also look for a book by Scott Kelby - "The Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 Book for Digital Photographers." Superb book, and Mr. Kelkby also has a lot of stuff on-online. much of it free.

Lightroom is like life. There is always something new and surprising.

For good, free instruction, here are some links. You can find many on YouTube, but a lot of them will be low quality. tv.adobe.com offers good ones.

Lightroom is an excellent program, but it can be confusing.

Another possibility - go to lynda.com. For $25 for a month, you can spend 24 hours a day watching their videos.
