Feedin Osprey - Honeymoon Island

This was my 2nd photo excursion on Honeymoon Island in less than a month. Fortunately, I live nearby and have fallen in love with the Osprey and other birds and wildlife on the island. Canon 5DMII/100-400 L IS. (Can't wait for the Tamron 150-600 to arrive next month so I don't have to crop quite as much). PS: I saw another posting of Osprey from Washington (state) which makes me realize how prolifically wide ranging these beautiful birds are.

Very nice work. I live 10 minutes from Honeymoon Island and have spent many hours in the evening photographing great sunsets.

I envy your location. I live in Lutz and would give anything to live closer to Honeymoon. I'll have to shoot some sun sets there as well. I'm wondering: Will the Park Rangers let you stay late enough to catch the sunset before closing the park?

The rangers let you stay for about half a hour after sunset usually. Sometimes longer. We like to pack a lunch and get their about six pm.

Thanks for the info. I'm already making plans. Believe it or not, I'm a Florida resident but don't have ANY sunrise or set shots because I traveled extensively in the Navy for many years and then went to work overseas. I returned in July of last year and only recently started to get serious about photography here locally. The more I get out and shoot the more I realize how much I've been missing. Sa la vi...better late than never! Thanks again for the Honeymoon info.

I appreciate the look from "Down under." I spent a few days in Geraldton in my Navy days many years ago and had the time of my life! BEAUTIFUL country and people. I'd give anything to go back and visit again but can't afford it these days. I spend all my extra money on photo gear:)
